James Ross was flagged for a personal foul after taking down Minnesota QB Mitch Leidner to force a fourth-down late in the 4th quarter. Was Ross’ tackle payback for a no-call hit by Minnesota that sent Jake Rudock out of the game? Either way, with Jim Harbaugh in the ear of the refs, the penalty was eventually picked up and Minnesota was forced to punt. Michigan wound up scoring on the ensuing possession and held on at the goal-line for a three-point victory.
