Detroit Lions Waive Former Starting CB Bill Bentley

The Detroit Lions announced Thursday afternoon that former starting slot CB Bill Bentley was waived by the team. Bentley, who tore his ACL in week 1 last season, could be replaced by Josh Wilson or the two cornerbacks drafted this year (Alex Carter and Quandre Diggs).

The Lions announced they cut CB Bill Bentley, a third-round pick in 2012.

Bentley tore his ACL in Week 1 and still wasn't participating in team drills yet. Lions have other options to play nickel.
