Following the Cavs’ 103-84 loss to the Kings on Sunday night, head coach David Blatt may have dug himself an even deeper hole. When asked by a reporter why the team was struggling even though the team is playing with two max-contract players, Blatt had this response:
Reporter: "Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love they are two max players, they're here."
Blatt responds quickly: "Kevin's not a max player yet."— Sacramento Kangz Blake (@BlakeTKH) January 12, 2015
Kevin Love, who the Cavs dealt No. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins to acquire, is averaging 18 ppg and 10.5 rpg. Love is making $16.74 million this season, and can opt out of that deal this summer. It was already rumored this year that the Lakers would offer Love a max deal. Things have certainly gone sour in Cleveland with the team losing 9-of-the-last-11.
