Central Michigan was losing 49-14 to start the fourth quarter of the first inaugural Popeyes Bahamas Bowl when Western Kentucky went to sleep. Central brought the score back to 49-42 with a minute left and failed to get the onside kick. But a stop and a punt in the end zone, plus a penalty, gave them the ball on their own 25-yard line with 1 second left. That’s when one of the greatest plays in college football bowl history occurred. This Hail Mary complete with 3 laterals was simply incredible. Take a look:
Central then went for two points and the win and didn’t convert on the fade. Truly a sad ending to a magnificent comeback and bowl game.
