Detroit Tigers closer Joe Nathan has been questionable at best this year and after putting two runners on base with an 8-4 lead in the 9th, Tigers fans got restless again. Tigers fans booed Nathan and then jeered him when he got a strike or an out. At the end of the game, Nathan made a gesture towards the crowd that looked a lot like the Italian gesture for “go f*ck yourself.” Not the best way to get fans on your side, Joe.
Joe Nathan has apologized for his nasty gesture. Said his frustrations got the best of him.
