The Detroit Lions announced today that they would no longer negotiate a contract extension with Ndamukong Suh until next season is over, something that has to concern Lions fans. According to Chris Mortensen, Suh would command a $26.7 tender, which is a record amount.

It’s too bad the the Lions were terrible at the worst time. If they had been bad with the new CBA and rookie pay scale, they wouldn’t have such enormous cap issues. How the NFL owners let things get so out of hand is beyond me, but the Lions cannot afford $26.7 Million for a defensive tackle.
