Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos threw a pass to the point during a delayed penalty on the Buffalo Sabres when the puck missed the defenseman, banked off the boards, and trickled down the ice into the net. This is always something guys have to worry about when your goalie is pulled and is a momentum killer. Cory Conacher was credited with the goal, which is especially funny because he was the one who got the penalty. The Lightning did manage to overcome the gaffe and Stamkos scored the game-winner in overtime to make up for the mistake.
Official @NHL scoresheet as of now for #Sabres 3rd goal: BUF .(0) unassisted. Don't worry, guys. It'll change. We promise.
