Sage Kotsenburg, Slopestyle Snowboarding, United States
U.S. snowboarder Sage Kotsenburg won the first gold medal of the Sochi Games. Amazingly, the Gold medal Kotsenburg captured was his first snowboarding win since he was 11-years-old. With Shaun White dropping out of the competition the week before, the 20-year-old had to defeat favorites Max Parrot and Mark McMorris. Whether it’s the bacon gold medal, or his hilarious Instagram and Twitter accounts, the Park City, Utah, native has quickly became an internet sensation after winning Gold in Sochi.
