Arguably the best pitcher in baseball will likely be in a Los Angeles Dodgers uniform for the remainder of his career. According to CBS’ Jon Heyman, the Dodgers have agreed with their ace Clayton Kershaw to a 7-year, $215 million dollar extension. Kershaw, who won the NL Cy Young Award two of the last three seasons, will be the highest paid pitcher ever in baseball history, breaking the previous record set with Justin Verlander’s 7-year, $180 million last year. Kershaw was 16-9 with a 1.83 ERA and 232 strikeouts last season.
According to Yahoo’s Jeff Passon, Kershaw is now the sixth MLB player to get a $200 million dollar deal, joining A-Rod (twice), Pujols, Cano, Fielder and Votto.
