It’s been reported by Adam Schefter that the Washington Redskins have hired Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden as their team’s next coach.

Jay Gruden, the younger brother of current ESPN Monday Night football analyst, Jon, has led the Bengals to a playoff spot the last three season as their offensive coordinator. He was also a very successful Arena Football League player and coach. The 46-year-old brings a west-coast offense, which should excite both quarterback Robert Griffin III and running back Alfred Morris because it’s the same offense that former coach Mike Shanahan ran. Washington is coming off a 3-13 season.
It is expected that Jim Haslett and Sean McVay will run the defense and offense respectably.

Washington also interviewed the Cowboys special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia, Vanderbilt’s James Franklin, Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell and Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.
