FGCU loses in heartbreaking fashion after buzzer-beater waved off vs. USF

Florida Gulf Coast’s Chase Fieler nearly pulled off the impossible Tuesday night against South Florida. Trailing by two point with 0.3 seconds left in double overtime, Fieler caught a full-court alley-oop pass and laid it in. Unfortunately for FGCU, the basket didn’t count because of an NCAA rule where any time less than 0.4 seconds left on the clock, a player cannot catch and shoot but has to tip the ball in. Good job, good effort, Florida Gulf Coast.
