During an exhibition match between Rafael Nadal and Juan Martin del Potro at the BNP Paribas Showdown at Madison Square Garden things turned into a doubles match for a brief moment. During the match, Nadal went to the stands and brought Ben Stiller out onto the court. Not wanting to play shorthanded, del Potro went to the stands to look for help and picked out a 9-year-old girl.
As the girl walked onto the court, Stiller told her that she was going down. She returned the first volley from Nadal, but Stiller hit a shot that she couldn’t return and the celebrated, drawing boos from the crowd. The girl then later returned a volley directly at Stiller that he couldn’t return to win the “match” and she received a standing ovation from the crowd and a kiss from Nadal. The girl and Stiller returned to their seats and then the real exhibition match continued on. This will obviously be a moment that this girl will never forget, and something tells me she has a future in Tennis.
