Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis is not very smart, there is just no way around it. Tweeting about your friend and the Kansas City Chiefs potentially tampering is one thing. Yes, it’s bad, but it’s not nearly as bad as trying to claim that you were hacked after the fact. “Hackers” don’t go around on Twitter and get into NFL players accounts to try and get teams in trouble for tampering. If they did, there would be far more tweets like this.
To make things worse for Vontae, enough people were tweeting at Miami Dolphins CB Sean Smith about the incident that he got on Twitter to make a statement.
Ok this is getting out of hand, I’ve never talked to any other team besides the Miami Dolphins. Yes I talked to vontae and I told him Al Harris (our former coach) got the job up in KC and that I talked to him a few days ago to tell him congrats. That’s it! Now why he interpreted that as “talking to KC” idk but there is NOTHING going on! This is ridiculous
Smart choice by Smith to clear things up and to keep him and the Chiefs out of trouble, but man, does Vontae look dumb. This is just another good lesson for the concept of think before you tweet.
