Edmonton Oilers use “Flying V” to break out of their zone

If you ever wondered how the strategies used during the Mighty Ducks series would translate to the NHL, the answer is not very well. On Tuesday night against the San Jose Sharks, the Edmonton Oilers were seen running the Flying V to break out of their defensive zone. After the first period the Oilers were down 6-1, so needless to say, this is not a recommended breakout.
Obviously this was completely unintentional on the Oilers part and not executed nearly as well as the Mighty Ducks would have done it, but it was still crazy to see this happen during an NHL regular season game.
