Wisconsin Badgers Football fans were left in a state of shock yesterday, after their current Head Coach up and left for Arkansas. The team is poised to play Stanford in the Rose Bowl on January 1st, which will mark their third straight Rose Bowl appearance. Unfortunately for Badgers fans, they have lost two straight.
This is where the petition at Change.org comes in. Logan Gants, from Madison, Wisonsin, has started a petition to convince the Athletic Department to hire Barry Alvarez to be the Badgers interim coach for the Rose Bowl. Alvarez, unlike Bielema, has a fantastic record in the Rose Bowl and is 3-0 all-time.
Having Alvarez come out of retirement to coach in the Rose Bowl wouldn’t be the worst idea, and I bet a lot of the players would rally around such a legend. As of right now, the petition only has 100 signatures.
Update: Alvarez will coach Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl according to Madison.com
