Every time there is a prominent Head Coaching vacancy, Les Miles’ name seems to pop up. Miles is certainly one of the most unique and passionate coaches in the NCAA, which you can see in his rant from last week in case you missed it.
Miles has a history with Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long, and so he was extended a coaching offer by his friend. The offer was first broken on Twitter by Sports by Brooks, but it appears that it wasn’t quite enough.

Extension and raise for Les Miles, who has 10 wins in 6 of 8 yrs, 2 SEC titles and 1 national title

Smart play by Miles. He doesn’t have to move to a new team, which would be worse than the one he is currently coaching, and he used the offer to leverage a new extension and more money, just like he did last time when Michigan was looking for a new coach.
Les Miles agent seems to know exactly what he is doing and now Tigers fans can keep watching the Mad Hatter eat grass and make crazy in-game decisions in Death Valley.
