Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has had his demeanor questioned multiple times after losses this season, and people, including his father, have expressed an interest for him to stop pouting and feeling sorry for himself and for the team.
Newton responded by saying that something needed to change and that he wanted to stop playing so many close games. Newton wants a more balanced offense and he thinks that better play calling and game planning could help them.
Newton even took it so far as to create a suggestion box, in order to win more games.
I'm not sure firing the GM is the first item Cam would have chosen to forward on from the suggestion box.

I have to agree with Rich Eisen here, I’m not sure that having the General Manager fired is what Cam Newton was going for here, but it is definitely a sign that the Team Owner and President are not happy; it could be a sign of more things to come.
