While the referees were still reviewing whether it was a fumble or not, the New England Patriots and New York Jets started to shake hands and leave the field; presumably because they had been told that it was indeed a fumble.
When Jeff Triplette came back out to make the announcement that the call would stand and the Patriots had won, Jim Nantz had a bit of a Freudian slip and said that the Jets had won and would be alone atop the AFC East. He was quick to correct himself, so no harm no foul, but still a bit embarrassing nonetheless.
