Johntay Cook, a former five-star 2024 recruit and a freshman for Texas, has entered the transfer portal before the end of the year for the Longhorns. Cook, who had 16 catches and 2 TDs already this year, has many suitors as you can imagine. 247sports’ Mike Roach, an insider for the Southeast region, says that Michigan could be a team to watch in the recruitment of Cook:
We’ve checked around with several sources, and we’re told a large group of schools would be interested. Georgia, Baylor, Ole Miss, SMU, Oregon, Texas A&M, Florida, Miami, Nebraska, South Carolina and Illinois were a few of the names we heard. Michigan finished inside Cook’s top group in high school and could be a team to watch as well.
Michigan’s WRs certainly haven’t had much production this year and it will likely turn to the portal to land a pass-catcher or two.
