After three seasons back in Ann Arbor, it has been announced that Mike Hart will not be returning to join Sherrone Moore’s staff. According to Josh Henschke, Hart has been dealing with personal matters since the National Championship game and been on leave and his contract was up:
Hart's situation is unlike any of those names listed. His leave was for personal reasons and I will leave it at that. He deserves his privacy and he can come out and discuss it if he chooses. https://t.co/88AYZRfpQK

According to FootballScoop, Hart was not offered a new contract
Sources told FootballScoop Friday that Sherrone Moore and Michigan did not extend Hart a new contract nor an opportunity to return to the Wolverines coaching staff.
The belief is that Moore is wanting to make a big splash with the hire and working quickly to make a move.
Mike Hart, Michigan’s running backs coach for the last three seasons, including the last two as run-game coordinator, will not be returning to the Wolverines’ staff this season under first-year head coach Sherrone Moore, two sources confirmed to The Detroit News.
Hart, whose contract with Michigan expired on Jan. 10, declined comment when reached by The Detroit News on Friday. He has not been connected to any recent openings on college football or NFL staffs.
Hart has been instrumental in the Michigan RB room that has produced Blake Corum, Hassan Haskins and Donovan Edwards these past three seasons.
Working on that. I think Sherrone wants to make it buzzworthy but we'll see. https://t.co/AofMVZrjfw
