Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day played for Kelly at UNH and later coached with him at three stops.
With Bill O’Brien off to Boston College to be their next head coach, signs point to Ohio State replacing the former coach with either UCLA head coach Chip Kelly or Toledo coach Jason Candle.

The Silver Bulletin thinks the Bruins headman is likely headed to Columbus.
Ohio State is expected to hire Chip Kelly as Bill O'Brien's replacement at offensive coordinator, if Kelly is not hired by the Seattle Seahawks.
