While there were rumblings Michigan made an offer to make Jim Harbaugh the highest paid coach in college football among many other things, as Sarah Hubbard, the chair of the Regents at U of M, made it clear that they couldn’t give him a ‘Super Bowl’:
We put so much support on the table and did everything we could to keep Coach Harbaugh.
But at the end of the day we can’t give him a Super Bowl ring.
I hope he goes out and wins one and makes us proud.

With Harbaugh off to the NFL, it will be interesting to see how long it takes for Sherrone Moore to be named the next head coach.
Warde Manuel says they did everything to try and retain Harbaugh and that they are trying best to keep staff and team together:
