With rumblings that the Big Ten Conference is looking to hand over a suspension to Jim Harbaugh, possibly ‘indefinitely’ as some message board rumblings have said, Tony Petitti, the commissioner, can only hand over a maximum two-game suspension:
B1G commissioner Tony Petitti can only dole out two games maximum on his own according to the sportsmanship policy. Anything longer must be done through a panel of conference members and that takes time.
To address talks of an “indefinite” suspension.

We’ll see how things develop but Michigan has Penn State, Maryland and then Ohio State to close the regular season.
All signs point to the Michigan regents and President supporting Harbaugh and would potentially turn this into a court matter if the B1G decides to hand over a suspension.
