Related: Jim Stapleton issues statement after being connected to investigation
With more and more turning up regarding Conner Stalions operation to have other people record entire games of B1G opponents (as well as other top teams), many are wondering how this operation was leaked anyway.
John U. Bacon, who is plugged into Michigan football as much as anyone, mentioned that Jim Stapleton, who is on the NCAA infractions committee and ‘hates Jim Harbaugh’ was a likely ‘snitch’ of Michigan’s potential infraction. He mentioned it on the radio with 97.1 The Fan in Columbus:
Wow, John (who is as plugged in as anyone in Ann Arbor) is saying it is actually a University of Michigan alum named Jim Stapleton who is leaking all of the info about Harbaugh. Stapleton works for the NCAA Infractions Committee and "hates" Harbaugh. 🧐😮 https://t.co/pFnIIAWHFO

Here’s what Bacon had previously wrote about Stapleton, a minority owner of the Vikings, when they were considering hiring Harbaugh last offseason:
As I reported in Three and Out, after Stapleton had been accused of sabotaging U-M coach Rich Rodriguez he wrote a 4-page letter refuting the charges, but still had his sideline pass revoked. He is now one of Harbaugh’s critics, hoping to persuade the Wilfs to reject him. (10/13)
