Myles Sims, who transferred from Michigan to Georgia Tech this offseason, was denied immediate eligibility. Sims’ parents says Michigan mislead the NCAA into not allowing him to be eligible immediately:

Again — Michigan (or any other school) — can’t guarantee a waiver goes through, obviously, but there are ways to try and help the process IF you want to.

To suggest that Michigan isn’t trying to HELP these kids get eligible isn’t to say they’re doing something wrong, only that it seems pretty clear coaches the departed school can influence the process if they try/want to.

Meanwhile, TCU and former OSU QB Matthew Baldwin was denied immediate eligibility:
None of the players who transferred from Michigan have a case to be eligible unless Michigan lies and says they got run off. Michigan declines to do that. The end.
