According to ESPN’s Tom VanHaaren, after announcing his plans to transfer to Michigan, Shea Patterson, has filed a waiver with the NCAA to become eligible next year.
Right, but Patterson will be filing a waver with the NCAA and the NCAA can allow him to have immediate eligibility, which is why it's pending.

It’s a wait and see situation whether the former five-star QB will be eligible next year.
