It may not have been the best match of the World Cup (Brazil-Chile in my eyes), but the United States-Belgium match was everything expected and then some. According to ESPN’s research Twitter account, Tuesday’s match was the second highest viewed soccer match on ESPN with 16.5 million viewers and a 9.6 rating.
The only match on ESPN with more viewers was the Sunday Portugal-USA game that saw 18.22 million (and wasn’t on the weekday at 4pm). 5.1 million viewers also tuned into Univision, making the total 21.6 million.
