Brazil will be without their captain and best defender for the semi-finals of the World Cup after he made a very boneheaded play in the quarterfinals against Colombia. Thiago Silva, who netted one of the two Brazil goals in the win on Friday, was booked after he intentionally interfered with Colombia’s goalie on a kick. It was Silva’s second yellow-card of the World Cup, and as a result, the 29-year-old will miss the Germany match.
