This is a textbook example of why the NHL wants to eliminate fighting. Outside of the concussion and CTE issue, teams don’t want to see their superstar players get hurt. On Tuesday night, Erie Otters’ Connor McDavid hurt his hand in a fight. McDavid is thought of one of the top prospects for the 2015 NHL Draft, and most think he’s the sure-fire #1 overall pick. McDavid missed Bryson Cianfrone with a punch and ended up punching the glass. He went to the hospital and is still awaiting the results of x-rays. It was his first career Gordie Howe hat trick but this was not good.
