Patrick Sharp finally scores after mad scramble in front of net

Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask has been playing fantastically in the first period of Game 2.  At the end of one period, he has already made 18 saves.  Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Sharp was able to get one past Rask though, after this mad scramble in front of the net.

Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane put the first two shots on net and the puck was eventually kicked out to Michal Rozsival who fired one on Rask.  The puck seemed lodged under Rask’s pad as he slid across the net and finally came free to Kane.  Kane had a wide open net, but Bruins forward Kaspars Daugavins was able to use his glove to bat the puck away.  That’s when Sharp picked up the puck and fired it on net.

Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk and Daugavins were caught up with Rask and he was unable to make a save, while he was also screened by Michal Handzus and Andrew Ference.  It was pure chaos and the fact that Rask made five saves before finally giving up a goal there was incredible.  Without Rask, the Bruins are losing this game 3-0 after the 1st period, instead of only being down 1-0.
