After allowing a weak goal early in the 1st period to Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith, Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick showed why he is one of the best goalies on the planet. Early in the 3rd period of a 2-1 game, Blackhawks defenseman Johnny Oduya found himself wide-open at the side of the net with the puck on his stick. He chose a great time to pinch and found the rebound on his stick, but Quick made a miraculous save. There was a lot of traffic in front of the net and Quick found the puck late, but managed to throw up his blocker at the last second to stop Oduya’s shot. The goal could have been a dagger for the Kings, but instead Quick kept them in the game.
