Jake Allen save of the year candidate against Calgary Flames

After getting a win in his first career start on Wednesday night against the Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues rookie goaltender Jake Allen has gotten comfortable playing in the NHL to say the least.  Against the Calgary Flames on Friday night, Allen had this incredible save of the year candidate, and sure-fire SportsCenter Top Ten play.

Allen was completely out of position and Calgary Flames forward T.J. Brodie had a completely open net.  Allen reached across and knocked the puck out of the air with his stick, and then stood up to catch the puck.  To catch the puck so nonchalantly as he was standing up is simply incredible, especially after reaching across and knocking the puck out of the air.  Brodie was completely shocked and the Flames were demoralized, while the Blues gained more momentum.  A few moments after Allen stole this goal away that would have made it 2-1, the Blues scored to make it 3-0 and then added another to make it 4-0 before the first period ended; probably putting this game well out of reach.
