Francis Bouillon scores on his own net to ruin Peter Budaj’s shutout
Published
Montreal Canadiens goalie Peter Budaj had a shutout going halfway through the third period and the Canadiens had been utterly dominating the Florida Panthers. That’s when defenseman Francis Bouillon blocked Florida Panthers forward Thomas Kopecky’s shot and then tried to clear the puck. Unfortunately for Bouillon and Budaj, Bouillon fired the puck right past Budaj and ruined his shutout. Obviously Bouillon felt badly and apologized to Budaj after the incident. Bouillon had already scored for Montreal, but this one was credited to Kopecky since he was the last Panther to touch the puck. Montreal went on to win 5-2, but Bouillon has earned himself a spot on the lowlights.
