ESPN will broadcast KHL games beginning later this month on ESPN3. Five planned, more in the works.

According to Aaron Portzline, the Columbus Blue Jackets beat writer, ESPN will start broadcasting KHL games on ESPN3 for the hockey fans craving to watch a game. While the Kontinental Hockey League is completely inferior to the NHL, broadcasting KHL games on ESPN3 during the lockout is utterly brilliant. It’s a great way to get viewership and make money off of hockey games when NBC has the NHL contract.
There are some major NHL players playing in the KHL right now, such as: Ilya Kovalchuk (F, New Jersey Devils), Pavel Datsyuk (F, Detroit Red Wings), Alexander Ovechkin (F, Washington Capitals), Evgeni Malkin (F, Pittsburgh Penguins) and Zdeno Chara (D, Boston Bruins). All of whom have won major NHL awards during their career. You can guarantee that I will be watching every single one of them, and I suggest you do too. After all, it’s likely to be December before the NHL is back.
