The Edmonton Oilers were up 3-2 on the Calgary Falmes in the second period when Oilers goalie Devan Dubnyk made a mistake playing a dump in. The puck took a strange kick off of the boards and forced Dubnyk to misplay the puck, sending it right in front of the open net. Flames forward Mikael Backlund picked up the puck and shot it, but Dubnyk made a miraculous save, diving head first to stop the puck. Oilers defenseman Ryan Whitney was also there to help out in case Dubnyk didn’t get back, but Dubnyk was able to make the save of the night. The save completely changed the momentum of the game and the Oilers took total control and won 8-2.
