Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry is a very skilled player, but he’s also been known to be a hot head and to throw some questionable hits. I’m not sure what Minnesota Wild forward Jason Zucker did to upset Perry, but he clearly made him mad. Early in the second period, Perry utterly destroyed Zucker while he wasn’t looking and didn’t have the puck. Perry was clearly targeting Zucker on the play, since Zucker had already passed the puck up the ice. Perry left his feet and targeted Zucker’s head and Zucker did not look to be in good shape as he laid on the ice. Perry was given a 5-minute major for interference, a 10-minute misconduct and a game misconduct. I would fully anticipate Perry having a meeting with Brendan Shanahan soon, and a suspension is very likely.
