Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin was not happy when the new NHL uniform rules were announced. It meant he could no longer tuck in his jersey, or roll up his sleeves so that his elbow pads were showing. It would appear though that Ovechkin and Bauer have found a way for the superstar to keep one habit of his going. If you look closely, his elbow pads have been customized to fit the same color scheme as the Capitals jersey and it’s striping. No one has seem to have caught onto this yet, because Ovechkin would be warned once, and then given a two-minute delay of game if he didn’t fix it.
Personally, I think the NHL should just let players wear what they want to wear instead of trying to keep logos covered up of companies that don’t have contracts with the league.
