During the Boston Bruins 3-2 shootout win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, Bruins assistant coach Geoff Ward had his earpiece start to malfunction. Understandably there was no more use for it, so he took it out. Why he decided to toss it over his shoulder into the stands once he took it out though is beyond me. Thankfully he did because it provided us with this hilarious clip. As it lands into the fan’s beer, the best part of the whole situation is how the fan looks at the ceiling wondering how that just fell into his beer. The odds of this happening had to be astronomical.
UPDATE: In perhaps the funniest turn of events, Geoff Ward was interviewed and said he didn’t throw his earpiece. Instead, it was Tyler Seguin who was using smelling salts prior to the third period that was the culprit. Seguin tossed the used smelling salts behind him and they went up into the stands and ruined the fan’s beer. I guess this makes more sense rather than Ward throwing away an earpiece.
