Someone over at NESN was asleep at the wheel on Friday during a broadcast of the ACC Tournament. Sportspickle wrote a satirical story on Thursday saying that Brian Urlacher would sign a one-day contract with the Green Bay Packers because he “wanted to go out a winner.” NESN clearly didn’t understand the satire and reported it as real news, opening themselves up to a lot of criticism and making them the subject of quite a few jokes. Perhaps a quick double-check of facts or a strict use of your common sense on this one would have helped.
