Jon Lester was brilliant for the Boston Red Sox in Game 1 of the World Series pitching 7 2/3 scoreless innings. However, his performance will be overshadowed by Tyler Melling, a St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher, who spotted a substance (Vaseline) in Lester’s glove during the 7th inning.
As you can see in the video below Lester clearly is doing a double tap with his two fingers with the substance in the glove.
Wether Lester was doctoring up the ball, this certainly will spice things up for the remainder of the World Series.
