Rarely do you pin a loss on one specific player, but this playoff loss is strictly on Utah High School quarterback Jason Money. Money’s Spanish Fork had a 14-11 lead over Maple Mountain late in the fourth quarter and with 4th down and 3 seconds on the clock, all Money had to do was take the snap, run around and take a knee.
Money had the run around part down pat, but had a total brain far and forgot the game didn’t end when the clock hit 0:00. He then stopped running, got the ball knocked out his hands and Maple Mountain picked up the ball and ran it in to win the game.
Skip ahead to the 46:22 mark to see the cringe-worthy play in all its glory.
