According to a new report that has surfaced on ESPN, Tiger Woods sat down with all of the Ryder Cup Rookies (Jason Dufner, Webb Simpson, Keegan Bradley and Brandt Snedeker) and apologized to them for his play.
Woods went 0-3-1 during the weekend, even though the match he halved did not matter and he conceded the final hole just to get it over with. It wasn’t as though Woods played that terribly though; on Friday during four-ball he had seven birdies when he and Steve Stricker lost to Lee Westwood and Nicolas Colsaerts by one. Conveniently, that was also the day that Colsaerts had the round of his life and had eight birdies and one eagle.
The U.S. team’s collapse on Sunday is one of the biggest in Ryder Cup history and will not be soon forgotten. On the bright side, the Rookies showed that the U.S. has a bright future in the golf world, as Dufner, Simpson, Bradley and Snedeker combined for a 9-6 record.
