Rivals.com’s Adam Gornery and Mike Farrell published an article predicting which 2018 quarterback prospects could earn a fifth star after their senior campaigns. Michigan QB pledge Joe Milton made the list:
This pick might be a little outside the box because Joe Milton still has a lot of fundamental tools to perfect, but if he starts showing that tremendous upside and refining some parts of his game, I could see an argument being made for five-star consideration.
There might not be a quarterback in this class as physically gifted as Milton, who at 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds could be special if he takes to the coaching during his time at Michigan.
I remember seeing Milton at a 7-on-7 tournament in Las Vegas this past spring and he has a huge arm, he moves really well for his size and there is just something special about the way he plays the position. At that time, he still threw every pass as hard as he could and it’s clear he needs to learn a lot about playing quarterback at the highest level.
But from a physical perspective, and someone who has the most upside in this class, Milton has all the tools to be a future first-round draft pick.
