The Buckeyes were hit with the injury bug to start fall practice as Urban Meyer announced Sunday that DE Darius Slade and OL Malcolm Pridgeon both will be out several months.
Slade suffered an achilles injury and will miss the entire season. The redshirt sophomore was expected to be a backup defensive end. Meanwhile, Pridgeon, a junior college transfer who was fighting for a starting spot on the offensive line, will be out three months after a knee injury.
