Jermaine Edmondson, who was assaulted by Draymond Green outside an East Lansing club over the weekend, won’t be returning to Michigan State for his senior season.
“In discussions with Jermaine Edmondson following spring practice and in the weeks thereafter, it became clear that Jermaine wanted to play a larger role on the team,”Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said in a statement. “After consulting with him in the summer, he felt it was in his best interest to finish his playing career elsewhere. We have granted his immediate release to transfer to another institution to have that opportunity.”
Edmondson, who played in every game last year as the Spartans nickel cornerback, wrote about the events that unfolded with the Warriors forward:
