Update: According to Cass Tech football coach Thomas Wilcher, Weber and his family are not happy with Urban Meyer and Ohio State. These tweets from Nick Baumgardner are from a radio interview Wilcher did with Detroit Sports 1051:
Wilcher: "I can tell you right now Mike Weber's not happy, Mike Weber's family is not happy."
— Nick Baumgardner (@nickbaumgardner) February 6, 2015
Wilcher: "I think it's a black eye on the university — they're out there getting these young men on false pretenses, and that's just it."
— Nick Baumgardner (@nickbaumgardner) February 6, 2015
Wilcher's upset because Weber now has to live in Michigan w/ a bunch of people saying "I told you so."

Wilcher says he, Weber and Weber's parents haven't talked about whether or not he'll be at Ohio State.

Wilcher says it's his understanding that if Ohio State releases Weber, he won't have to sit out. He's not commenting on any of that further

Cass Tech four-star RB Mike Weber decided on the Buckeyes over the Wolverines on signing day. One day after Weber’s decision, Ohio State’s RB coach, Stan Drayton, left the Buckeyes for the same position with the Bears. Weber tweeted ‘I’m hurt as hell I ain’t gone lie’ after news of Drayton’s departure was found out.

Urban Meyer and the Ohio State coaching staff had kept this news of Drayton’s leaving from Weber. Drayton tweeted this out after leaving the Buckeyes:
I will forever love my young men and the effort they display everyday. And I love The Ohio State University. Go Bucks!

Although this has become a more common practice for some major programs — to keep news away from recruits about coaches who have been hired by other/NFL teams–it’s really unfortunate for the recruit who now has to honor his commitment or sit out a year and transfer because he had faxed in his LOI.
