Satellite camps are officially no-longer, as the NCAA passed a rule banning schools from hosting high school camps at outside facilities. Many under-the-radar recruits, who wouldn’t otherwise have been offered/met coaches if it weren’t for the camps, voiced their frustration with the new rule.
DiCaprio Bottle, a three-star cornerback out of Miami, Florida, shared that he might not be heading to play for Nebraska if it weren’t for satellite camps:
Without the satellite camps I might not be headed in the direction that I am right now…#GBR 🔴⚪️🌽

Likewise, 2016 Utah signee Davir Hamilton, a three-star out of Los Angeles, says camps helped him meet his future coaches.
Satellite Camps is how I met the Utah coaches 😅

UCLA 2017 commit Rayhme Johnson added to Hamilton’s message that the NCAA really blew this one.
