Rumors were flying on Twitter that one of Michigan’s big-time offensive freshman recruits suffered an injured during fall camp. A report is out, and according to 247Sports Steve Lorenz, TE Tyrone Wheatley Jr. is that player.
The original fear was that he tore some ligaments in the knee, but upon further review and an examination, he has a knee sprain and is expected to miss only a few weeks instead of the entire season.
Wheatley Jr., the son of former Michigan Wolverine great and current RB coach Tyrone Wheatley, was a four-star recruit and the No. 12 TE in last year’s class.
