Michigan Freshman Makes Position Switch On Defense

Brad Hawkins, a freshman out of New Jersey, told media that the coaching staff has had him switch from safety to viper:

“They came to me and said, ‘Brad, we want you to play viper,'” Hawkins told reporters on Tuesday. “It was coach’s decision. I just did what was best for the team.”

Hawkins, a Camden, New Jersey native, was a three-star prospect. He has been on special teams at kickoff returns.
