[AdSense-A]ESPN released an article ($) predicting the chances that 4 of the top prospects in the country end up decommitting and playing their college ball elsewhere. ESPN’s Erik McKinney says that Michigan is the toughest competition to Alabama for the nation’s top recruit – Najee Harris:
Chance he flips: 35 percent
Toughest competition: Michigan
Others in the mix: Cal, UCLA, USC and WashingtonThat flip percentage is down from what it would have been last fall or this past spring, when it appeared his Alabama pledge was a placeholder simply to avoid much of the crushing attention from media and coaches that would have come with being uncommitted. But a summer visit to Alabama reportedly left Harris and those involved in his recruitment more comfortable with the distance. Still, he’ll be pursued heavily by Jim Harbaugh and Michigan as well as Pac-12 recruiting powers UCLA, USC and Washington. And keep an eye on hometown Cal, which probably won’t give up the chase. — Erik McKinney
